Announcement
The SACO intergroup needs support - would you consider doing service to help?
Currently, five of our 12 service positions are unfilled, and the current members doing service have been holding their positions since before COVID.
We have not seen new faces at the intergroup meeting, and many would like to turn their service position over to another member - however nobody is stepping up to do service at the IG level.
At our intergroup meeting we held a vote and decided that SACO would continue on as is for one more year, so we could hold our retreat in 2023.
After that, if there are no new OA members helping out with service positions, we will likely disband the intergroup and re-affiliate our meetings either with a different local integroup or with the virtual region.
If you are looking for a chance to deepen your program and do service, now is the time!

OA Southern Alameda CountyOvereaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength, and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.
There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology, or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues. Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer. Our intergroup serves the cities of Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward and Castro Valley in Southern Alameda County
