What is Intergroup?
When several groups form in an area, they soon realize that they can better perform certain functions together rather than separately. So the groups may form an Intergroup that is directly responsible to the groups it serves. Intergroups spring from a need to provide service for a number of local groups and help distribute information about OA in a community.
Separate ‘Intergroups’ make up ‘Regions’ and then the ‘Regions’ (10 in all) combine to make up the 'World Service'. Our Intergroup is part of Region 8 (also called "Southeast OA Region 8," or the acronym, SOAR8), which serves Southeast U.S., Puerto Rico, Caribbean, Central and South America.
The SACO Intergroup (#09051) meets:
When: The 1st Saturday of every month at 12:15 PM
Where: First Presbyterian Church, 35450 Newark Blvd, Newark
There is a general Overeaters Anonymous meeting in the same room starting at 10:30 AM. You are welcome to join us for both!
